Ivelisse Cruz Torres is a Puerto Rican scientist and leader committed to the success of future leaders and to diversity, equity and inclusion in science.

Her curiosity for neuroscience began at University of Puerto Rico where she earned a B.S. in Biology, and expanded to neurotoxicology at Michigan State University’s Bridge to Ph.D. in neuroscience. Ivelisse explored the horizons of science commercialization and innovation during her Ph.D. in Pharmacology at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

That exploration culminated in 5 leadership and innovation fellowships, scientific work leading to 2 patent submissions, and 5 publications studying restoration of memory in brain injury models. Her work continues to expand in the greater Philadelphia area in her current role as R&D Scientific Investigator at GSK with unrelenting passion and dedication.

Ivelisse’s goal is to contribute to the innovation and strategies around the delivery of new medicines.
