Juan Carlos Ramos, is a Senior R&D Engineer Manager at HP, Inc. He leads an organization of R&D engineers and scientists to create, develop, and launch new technologies for HP printing businesses and microfluidics, with applications in industrial printing, additive manufacturing, biomedical, and thermal management.
Prior to his current position, Juan Carlos worked as 3D Printing development engineer, as well as materials development for MEMS. Before joining HP, Juan Carlos was a staff-scientist for Solution Deposition Systems (SDS), a start-up dedicated to creating more sustainable processes to deposit conductive coatings for LED and sensors manufacturing.
Juan Carlos received his Ph.D in Materials science from a dual program between the University of Ciudad Juarez (Mexico) and the University of Texas at Dallas. He was later a postdoctoral at Oregon State University working on sustainable flexible electronics.
In addition to his day-to-day work, Juan Carlos has been actively involved in mentoring, intrapreneurship, and relationships with universities for partnerships and technology transfer. He is member of the Committee of Minority Affairs in the American Chemical Society, the SEMI Foundation Advisory Council, and the Oregon State University Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Industry Advisory Board Executive Committee, as well as alumnus of the SACNAS Leadership Institute.
