Living Canopies, a company that makes and sells patio umbrellas from flowering vines, has spun off a new product called Cool Green Shelters, which provides living shade from plants at bus stops.
Living Canopies was co-founded by environmental science and technology Associate Professor David Tilley, along with former student Nick Cloyd ’13, M.S. ’17. Tilley is also CEO of the company.
The Cool Green Shelters product was featured recently in both Maryland Today and Technical.ly.
Living Canopies participated in both regional and national I-Corps cohorts.
