Reinaldo Franqui, Ph.D., JD is a D.C. patent attorney with a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology specialized in cancer research.
Through his doctoral training, Reinaldo obtained ample experience with standard molecular and biochemical techniques, and with handling of cell lines, laboratory mice, and human primary samples. This experience led to publications in journals like Nature Leukemia, the Journal of Clinical Investigation, and various others.
He founded the Spanish Science and Law Communication and Outreach platform, Bench 2 Bench (www.bench2bench.org). The platform includes a website that he uses to explain complex scientific and legal topics to general audiences.
In his time as a legal professional, Reinaldo has had experiences working for nonprofits, international law firms, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, where he has perfected his legal research and writing skills. He has also gained significant public policy experience, with projects that included tracking legislation, and helping draft resolutions for Congress. He also served as the Executive Publications Editor for the Howard Law Journal where he ensured high quality publications of law review articles in the university’s signature journal.
